VAN BEUREN CARTOON COLLECTION
Despite the talented staff, the Van Beuren Studio, which existed from 1928 to 1936, never rose above the level of a "B" cartoon house. Some of the rubber lipped-cartoon characters like Molly Moo Cow can be considered a little offensive, while others like the "Opening Night" cartoons celebrated the opening of the lavish Roxy Theater in New York. This interesting DVD collection offers two hours of long-forgotten gems from 1930 to 1936. $10.00
VAN BEUREN'S TOM AND JERRY
Almost a decade before MGM's famed cat and mouse team, Amadee J. Van Beuren's New York studio had another pair of cartoon stars named Tom and Jerry. At first, the two were drawn in a literal style that directly resembled Mutt and Jeff. By mid-1932, though, they were streamlined into a rubbery graphical style. Only 25 animated cartoons were ever made and over the years, these gems have drifted into obscurity. Until now. Here on this DVD are nine classic shorts from 1931 to 1933. The list of cartoons on this DVD are listed below.
#16 "Piano Tooters" (Nov. 11, 1932)

YOU BET YOUR LIFE BLOOPERS
The classic 1950s game show was recorded in advance (not broadcast “live” like most game shows) for good reason. The producers knew that Groucho’s sharp wit would include some remarks that couldn’t possibly be broadcast. And they were right. Here’s the clips and scenes that never aired on television. Groucho has some great one-liners (for adults only) but surprisingly, even the contestants slipped and said something that wasn’t appropriate. 70 consecutive minutes of outtakes and bloopers you gotta see to believe. Also included are some bonus features on the same disc.
